COVID-19 Support
Along with many obstacles we are facing during COVID-19, the way we access the care and services we need to maintain our health and well-being has changed.
That is why we are taking additional measures to provide supports through our Blue Choice plans, including the introduction of EQ Care, an innovative virtual health care service, and additional mental health supports.
EQ Care
We are partnering with EQ Care to provide Blue Choice members access to a virtual care platform during COVID-19. This service will be available at no cost for the remainder of the year.
Through EQ Care, members can access care through specialists and doctors with complete confidentiality, receive condition-specific care, manage prescriptions and receive discrete consulting from a wide network of medical professionals. Members can also receive referrals for specialists or for diagnostic testing.
Connect Now
If you choose a plan with Assistance Program coverage (Plan B or C), you can instantly connect with a counsellor at no cost through Connect Now, our clinical immediate support line.
Grief Counselling
We are providing up to three counselling sessions at no cost to Manitobans who have experienced a loss during COVID-19. This loss does not have to be related to COVID-19. Sessions are provided through qualified clinicians from our Assistance Program.

Why Choose Manitoba Blue Cross?
We are:
- Manitoba's coverage – We are Manitoba's choice for health benefits, with half a million Manitobans covered under our plans.
- Not-for-profit – We prioritize stakeholders, not stockholders. That means every dollar made is reinvested back into our province, our people and our ability to serve you better.
- The most recognized and trusted name in health coverage – We are part of a trusted network whose products are backed by a brand name recognized around the world.
- Mental health advocates – We believe mental health is an intrinsic part of health and well-being, but accessing affordable mental health services can be difficult. That is why Plans B and C include mental health coverage through our Assistance Program.
What does that mean for you?
- Accessibility – You will have access to our award-winning call centre and walk-in customer service centre, located right here in Manitoba. Plus, you'll have 24/7 access to claim and benefit information via mybluecross online or through our mobile app.
- Convenience – Our BlueNet card allows point-of-sale processing right at the pharmacy, which means you don't have to pay upfront for prescriptions. Plus, we've made arrangements with many service providers to reimburse directly. This means you don't have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement.
- Comprehensive coverage – Not only do we offer the complete suite of benefits – our offerings are unique in the industry. Our specialized offerings include foot care nurse and athletic therapy coverage, hostel care and treat-no-transport ambulance service. We also offer paramedical benefits such as homeopathy, osteopathy and nutritional counselling.
- Mental health strategy – When you choose Plan B or Plan C, you are covered for six confidential, professional counselling sessions per year through our widely accredited Assistance Program. Access services such as marriage, family, and stress counselling as well as counselling for alcohol or drug abuse.
