Weekly Indemnity

The Weekly Indemnity benefit is designed to compensate an employee for income lost as a result of short-term absences from work due to an accident or sickness.

The benefit amount is expressed as a percentage of salary and will continue for the duration of the employee's period of disability subject to the plan design.

Clients that provide Weekly Indemnity may opt out of the Employment Insurance Sickness Benefit and therefore qualify for a reduced E.I. premium rate. For more information visit Service Canada's web site.
