Manitoba Blue Cross Bursary for Students with Special Needs

A bursary of $750.00 will be awarded to each of seven handicapped students with special needs who must incur additional expenses to attend the University of Manitoba or its affiliated colleges, the University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, Red River College, University College of the North, Assiniboine Community College or Winnipeg Technical College. (One bursary provided through each facility.)

Manitoba Blue Cross Entrance Award

A bursary of $750.00 will be awarded to each of seven Grade XII students, on the basis of high academic standing and financial need to attend the University of Manitoba or its affiliated colleges, the University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, Red River College, University College of the North, Assiniboine Community College or Winnipeg Technical College. (One bursary provided through each facility.)

Manitoba Blue Cross Travellers Bursary

A bursary of $750.00 will be awarded to each of seven Grade XII students, on the basis of high academic standing and financial need, who must travel more than 100 kilometers (one way) to attend the University of Manitoba or its affiliated colleges, the University of Winnipeg, Brandon University, Red River College, University College of the North, Assiniboine Community College or Winnipeg Technical College. (One bursary provided through each facility.)

Manitoba Blue Cross Medical Rehabilitation Scholarship

  • One Scholarship of $750.00 will be awarded to a student achieving a high overall academic standing in the first year and proceeding to the next year of Masters Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba.
  • One Scholarship of $750.00 will be awarded to a student achieving a high overall academic standing in either the first or second year and proceeding to the next year of Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba.
  • One Scholarship of $750.00 will be awarded to a student achieving a high overall academic standing in the second year and proceeding to the next year of Respiratory Therapy at the University of Manitoba.

Manitoba Blue Cross Dental Scholarship

  • One scholarship of $750 will be awarded to a student achieving a high overall academic standing in the first year and proceeding to the second year of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba.
  • One scholarship of $750 will be awarded to a student achieving a high overall academic standing in the second year and proceeding to the third year of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba.

Manitoba Blue Cross George J. Strang Scholarship

  • One scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded to a student with an accredited Manitoba high school diploma who demonstrates financial need and satisfactory academic performance. The recipient must be registered full-time in either Education or Health Studies at Brandon University. Preference will be given to students who live with special needs and to Aboriginal students. As a rule, this award shall only be given to students who are not receiving any other award, bursary or scholarship of more than $1,000.
