Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Manitoba Blue Cross takes pride in providing peace of mind to their customers and is proud to be able to offer this assurance to the courageous children and their families from the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. As supporters of the foundation, Manitoba Blue Cross provides travel insurance coverage to Wish Children and their families when a travel wish is granted.

Manitoba Blue Cross Scholarship/Bursary Program
Manitoba Blue Cross believes that the promise of the future begins with the youth of today. This belief is the foundation of the Manitoba Blue Cross Scholarship/Bursary Program. Recognizing that one of the biggest challenges facing students is the cost of furthering their education, Manitoba Blue Cross introduced this program in 1983. Since then hundreds of students have benefited from these awards.
Since Manitoba's youth are our most valuable natural resource, Manitoba Blue Cross awards 26 students a Manitoba Blue Cross Scholarship or Bursary each year.
Manitoba Medical Service Foundation
The United Health Insurance Corporation (now known as Manitoba Blue Cross), together with the Manitoba Medical Service (MMS), were involved in the initial formation of the Manitoba Medical Service Foundation (MMSF) in 1971. It was our joint desire to establish a resource to benefit the health of all Manitobans. At the same time we were also aware of the critical need for research dollars. As a result, these two goals were combined and the MMSF was born. The initial contribution came from the MMS and represented the subscription residue remaining after they ceased operations. To this day, Manitoba Blue Cross remains the Foundation's major contributor, both in funds and administrative support.
